Colorado Gas Rates Rise 8.6% for Xcel Energy Customers This Fall

Xcel Energy’s Colorado natural gas customers will see higher bills this fall after the Colorado Public Utilities Commission approved a settlement. The average residential bill will rise 8.6% (about $5.16 per month). Xcel previously sought about $190 million, later reduced to $122.7 million, after which many customers opposed the increase during the process. The change affects more than 1.5 million customers.
