Cognizant disclosed a cyber security incident in which threat actors infiltrated its U.S. systems on or around April 21, exposing sensitive personal information belonging to some clients. The company launched an investigation with external experts, secured affected systems, and notified law enforcement. It also filed notice with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, days after a group called CoinbaseCartel claimed access.
