Coal India Eyes Ghana Bauxite via Planned Singapore Trading Office
Coal India’s interest in Ghana bauxite ties to a plan to set up its first overseas trading office in Singapore to support mineral trading and possible acquisitions in Africa. The hub would review opportunities including bauxite, rare earths and other minerals. Ghana has major bauxite deposits and plans to expand the Awaso mine and build alumina refineries, while Coal India reported 768.19 million tonnes of coal in 2025/26.
