CNOOC Starts 16 MW Floating Wind Power for Lufeng Oilfield
CNOOC began operating its 16 MW Haiyou Anlan floating wind platform in the South China Sea, sending electricity via a subsea cable to the Lufeng oilfield grid. The project is expected to produce about 54 million kWh annually and cut the oilfield’s fuel-oil use, saving roughly 15,000 cubic metres of fuel oil and reducing CO2 by around 35,000 tonnes per year.
