Chemours, DuPont and Corteva settle North Carolina PFAS claims
Chemours, along with DuPont and Corteva, reached a settlement with the State of North Carolina and 11 local entities near Fayetteville Works to resolve PFAS-related claims. Total payments are $455 million over 15 years, with Chemours’ 50% share about $180 million covered by existing accruals. The settlement reflects progress under a 2019 consent order, including reduced emissions and off-site mitigation, and includes $18 million tied to alleged contamination outside Fayetteville Works.
