After losing a major pharmaceutical customer, Cellares is right-sizing its automated cell-therapy operation. It telegraphed 68 job cuts in New Jersey, where its U.S. smart factory is based, alongside layoffs in California and at its headquarters in South San Francisco. The company said 168 U.S. cuts were completed Aug. 21 and no further workforce reductions are expected.
