CCPA Orders Dark-Pattern Changes Across Platforms, Including IndiGo
India’s Central Consumer Protection Authority ordered companies including IndiGo to modify interfaces and end dark patterns that obscured charges, added products, or constrained choices without explicit consent. Zepto was found using drip pricing and adding a Zepto Pass fee without user consent, receiving a Rs 7 lakh penalty. FirstCry, Physics Wallah, and SpiceJet were also fined for drip pricing, preselected donations, and trick-question checkout, respectively.
