Caterpillar is expanding its AI deployment by applying lessons from mining automation to jobsites, quarries, and construction sites. The company uses data generated by connected machines to support autonomous equipment and software for site scanning and digital twins in manufacturing. Caterpillar also plans to spend $100 million over five years to train its workforce in AI, autonomy, and robotics.
