Casella and Waga Energy Start Third US Landfill RNG Facility
Casella Waste Systems and Waga Energy began operating a renewable natural gas facility at McKean Landfill in Pennsylvania. Using Wagabox to upgrade landfill gas to pipeline-quality RNG, the 2,000 SCFM plant can produce up to 407,000 MMBtu (120 GWh) annually, ramping with gas volumes. The project is expected to cut about 31,000 tonnes of CO2e each year, with Waga funding construction and owning and operating for 20 years while sharing RNG revenues.
