Ten Competition Authority of Kenya appeals are stalled because the Competition Tribunal lacks quorum: the chair’s and a member’s terms expired and the tribunal has three members but no substantive chair. In a Feb 19, 2026 letter, Mutua said the delay undermines the tribunal’s credibility. The cases include Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets Limited, fined Sh1.108 billion and ordered to refund about Sh16.7 million to suppliers.
