California Plans Lawsuit Against RWE Over Deal to Cancel Floating Wind Project
California issued a Notice of Intent to Sue the US Department of the Interior and RWE over a USD 1.22 billion deal to cancel three offshore wind leases, including a federal lease off northern California that could support up to 1.6 GW of floating wind. The state challenges the August agreement, which requires RWE to reinvest settlement funds in LNG and natural gas projects, reducing reimbursements linked to local training and community benefits.
