California Gig Workers Union Set to Bargain With Lyft and Uber Drivers
California Gig Workers Union is set to become the bargaining representative for Uber and Lyft drivers in the state without an election, using a streamlined recognition process under a new sectoral bargaining law that applies only to the two companies. PERB says the union met an authorization threshold and will wait 30 days before next steps as the drivers’ union rights took effect in January.
