Burger King comeback boosts Restaurant Brands International’s US momentum
Burger King’s US performance is improving after major investment and refurbishments. Its market share fell from 28% of the US burger chain market in 2007 to 21% by the end of last year, but it has invested about $2B over four years, refurbishing more than half its restaurants and lifting sales 15–20%. In Q2 2026, US same-store sales rose 8.5% versus McDonald’s 0.8%.
