British Gas launches a competition giving 30 households a chance to win a plug-in solar unit as the technology goes on sale in the UK for the first time. The scheme broadens access for renters, flat-dwellers and others without rooftop space. Customers can also earn money from surplus electricity exported, with potential energy-bill savings of up to £110 a year.
