Bp is selling its Archaea Energy landfill gas operation as new CEO Meg O Neill abandons the company’s green strategy, saying investments delivered poor returns. Bp impaired $4.2bn of biogas and solar holdings by end-2025 and took a further $1.1bn impairment in Q2 2026, while Q2 adjusted profits rose with higher oil and gas prices.
