BP’s 440,000-barrel-per-day Whiting, Indiana refinery entered its second month of a lockout, with about 800 USW-represented workers still refusing a new contract offer after talks stalled. BP continued running the plant with temporary labor and said it tried twice since early April to resume bargaining. The dispute centers on job counts, and any disruption could worsen already tight gasoline and diesel supply.
