Boeing Pays $3.1 Million FAA Fine for 737 Safety Violations
The FAA said it found hundreds of quality-system violations at Boeing’s 737 facilities in Renton and at Spirit’s 737 fuselage plant in Wichita, from Sept 2023 through Feb 2024. It cited a Boeing employee pressuring a worker to sign off on 737 MAXs to meet delivery despite noncompliance, tied to the 2024 Alaska Airlines MAX 9 emergency. Boeing paid a $3.1 million fine, while the FAA later allowed airworthiness certificates after a safety review.
