Boeing Offloads Wisk Aero and Other Subsidiaries, Exiting Flying Taxi Plan
Boeing is offloading three subsidiaries, including electric aircraft maker Wisk Aero, after spending millions on flying taxi plans. The company led by Kelly Ortberg put $450 million into Wisk in 2022 and later bought it outright, while Archer and the broader sector have burned cash without regulator approval for passenger service. Archer will instead inherit a profitable drone maker.
