BMW Recalls 27,720 Sedans for Driveshaft Joint Failure Risk
BMW filed a US safety recall for 27,720 luxury sedans after finding a worn driveshaft-to-rear-differential joint can progressively strip rear-wheel power and, in some cases, let a parked vehicle roll away without warning. Owner letters won’t be mailed until Oct 2, so drivers must check VINs now. Dealers will reinforce the joint or replace the driveshaft and rear differential at no cost.
