BioNTech Drops 8% After Colorectal Cancer Vaccine Trial Is Scrapped
BioNTech’s shares fell about 8% after the company ended its Phase 2 BNT122-01 colorectal cancer vaccine study for futility, after crossing a boundary flagged in October 2025. The trial of an mRNA vaccine developed with Genentech tested adjuvant monotherapy in patients with surgically resected high-risk Stage II/III disease, ending a high-profile oncology program in its post-COVID pivot.
