BHP copper overtakes iron ore as earnings driver, with dividend lift
BHP reports copper is now its main earnings driver, generating $18.19 billion of underlying EBITDA for the year ended June 30 versus $14.53 billion from iron ore. Underlying attributable profit rose 30% to $13.2 billion, net debt fell to $8.69 billion, and the FY2026 dividend increased to $1.72. BHP also projects its copper pipeline could lift attributable copper production by about 40% by fiscal 2035.
