Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been selected as the lowest bidder for a Rs 514.56 crore contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) to supply 765 kV, 500 MVA single-phase transformers. The order covers 23 units for multiple transmission projects under PGCIL’s expansion programme, with insulating oil (excluded from transformer supply) and mandatory spares included. The procurement followed domestic competitive bidding on PGCIL’s e-platform.
