BASF Accelerates Buyback After Closing Coatings Deal, Plans Flexibility
BASF’s coatings transaction with Carlyle closed in late June, valuing the paints business at €7.7 billion, with BASF keeping a 40% equity stake in the new Surventis entity. Early debt repayment runs alongside its buyback program of up to €1.0 billion until April 2027, within a €4 billion framework through end-2028. In August, BASF bought back 2,389,217 shares, plus additional purchases, and has also opened a diaper and superabsorbents performance lab in Mumbai and launched xarvio CONNECT 2.0 in North America.
