Aurukun Bauxite Deal Adds Rio Tinto Upside, Consultation Risks Remain
Rio Tinto has agreed to acquire the Aurukun Bauxite Project in Queensland from a Glencore–Mitsubishi venture, with terms undisclosed. Aurukun is not yet at mining-lease stage, and Traditional Owners, the Wik Waya people, have raised concerns over consultation quality.
