AstraZeneca’s once-every-four-weeks COPD drug tozorakimab cut flare-ups versus placebo in two late-stage trials, including current and former smokers across lung-function stages. In a key analysis it reduced moderate and severe flare-ups by 30% and 29%, and showed benefits even for patients with low eosinophil counts where no biologic therapy is available. The drug blocks IL-33 driving inflammation and mucus.
