Astra International and its heavy-equipment unit United Tractors held their positions after MSCI’s major index purge, leaving an increasingly narrow group of nine Indonesian stocks in the MSCI Global Standard Indexes. MSCI removed GoTo Gojek Tokopedia and downgraded Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, shrinking Indonesia’s benchmark footprint and raising near-term foreign capital inflow concerns from passive funds, while retaining Astra/United Tractors for governance and liquidity reasons.
