Astellas has dosed the first patient in a Phase 3 study of ASP2138 for CLDN18.2-positive, HER2-negative locally advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma. The program targets cancers where current care yields median progression-free survival of about 6–7 months, and aims to deepen understanding of CLDN18.2 while exploring approaches to meet patient needs, with updates as required.
