Asiana A321 Repainted in Korean Air Livery as Merger Nears
Korean Air’s acquisition of Asiana has entered the final integration phase after approval from competition authorities across 14 countries and regions, including major EU, U.S., China, Japan, South Korea and UK reviews. Remedies required route transfers to T’way Air and the sale of Asiana’s cargo business to Air Incheon before EU clearance. The legal merger takes effect Dec. 16 and the integrated airline launches Dec. 17, when Asiana will dissolve and operations, fleet liveries, flight numbers, IT and airports transition progressively.
