ArcelorMittal Dunkirk wins contract for decarbonizing electric arc furnace in France
A 50/50 consortium of Técnicas Reunidas and Idom has started EPCm support for ArcelorMittal’s Dunkirk steelmaking site transformation after awarding a new Steel Making Plant contract. Work covers project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and testing, including an electric arc furnace and ladle furnace, with auxiliary infrastructure. The EAF route is estimated at 0.6 tons CO₂ per ton of steel—about three times less than blast furnace—starting in 2029.
