Aramco and Maaden Sign Joint Venture to Explore Transition Minerals in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Aramco and Maaden signed a shareholders’ agreement to form a jointly owned joint venture to advance mineral exploration and hard-rock mining in Saudi Arabia, targeting copper and other energy-transition minerals. Maaden will hold 51% and Aramco 49%. The exploration area spans a 100 km-wide zone parallel to the Arabian Shield, leveraging Maaden’s expertise and Aramco’s regional knowledge to accelerate low-cost discovery.
