Apple paid Ireland $17.1 billion in taxes last year, about 40% of its worldwide total, according to a country-by-country filing. The figure included €13 billion of back taxes ordered by the EU’s top court in 2024 after a 2016 EU competition ruling alleged illegal tax benefits. Apple reported $43.2 billion in worldwide income taxes for the fiscal year ended September 2025. Ireland had fought the bill for eight years.
