Apple CEO Tim Cook to Step Down Sept. 1 After Jobs Resigned in 2011
Jobs resigned as CEO due to ill health in August 2011 and was succeeded by Tim Cook. Cook’s tenure featured major product updates, including iPhone 4S with Siri, iPad Mini, iPad Pro, Apple Pay in 2014, and the Apple Watch in 2015, plus a $3 billion Beats acquisition. In April 2026, Apple said Cook will step down on September 1.
