Apple, Amazon and other firms remove director diversity criteria
ESGAUGE analysis of corporate filings found many companies removed language linking board director selection to gender, race, ethnicity, minorities or other underrepresented groups. Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Starbucks and Wells Fargo eliminated such director provisions in recent years. AMD dropped a pledge for diverse female and racially/ethnically diverse CEO candidates, while Microsoft still targets diversity in some CEO searches and others retain director criteria.
