American Airlines Settles Disability Discrimination Lawsuit With Accessibility Plan
The EEOC alleged American Airlines kept an employee with cortical blindness on nearly four years of unpaid involuntary leave, then fired her without providing requested screen-reader software or a reasonable transfer. Under a two-year consent decree, American will add Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to new reservation software expected in 2027, conduct accessibility audits, train HR, post notice, and report accommodation requests to the EEOC.
