American Airlines Plans Seven New International Routes as Fuel Costs Rise
American Airlines stock fell 0.6% to $13.64 after Friday trading. The carrier said it will add seven international routes in 2027, starting ticket sales Aug. 31, including four using Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Second-quarter revenue hit a record as fuel costs jumped 83%, leaving operating margin at 2.7% and focusing on more premium seats to support higher prices, despite fuel-cost risk.
