AMD EPYC helps cut data-center servers, power use and total cost
DNSE Securities consolidated its data-center infrastructure by replacing a legacy setup of 100 Intel Xeon Platinum 8280 two-socket servers with 14 AMD EPYC 9965 two-socket servers. The shift cut power consumption by 69% and reduced three-year total cost of ownership by 41%, while reclaiming rack space and kilowatts for new workloads and halving rack counts after benchmarking 3rd and 4th Gen EPYC CPUs.
