Alstom will design, engineer and manufacture Adessia rail cars in Canada for VIA Rail’s long-distance fleet renewal. The new cars are built to handle Canada’s climate extremes and replace much older rolling stock, improving passenger comfort, universal accessibility and digital connectivity. The project is aimed at serving regional and remote travellers, including many First Nations communities, alongside sustainability upgrades tied to government investment.
