Alstom Buys Newark Site for Amtrak NextGen Acela Maintenance Center
Alstom said it bought a 20-acre Newark site to build a service and maintenance center for Amtrak’s NextGen Acela high-speed trains, investing $55 million. It is expected to provide long-term support for the fleet and expand maintenance activity tied to Delaware sites, though its nearby New Castle parts and service center is not unionized.
