Alibaba has started integrating its domestic wholesale platform 1688 with the cross-border marketplace Alibaba.com, placing both businesses under Kuo Zhang. 1688’s former head will take another role. The management change aims to link Chinese suppliers with overseas buyers through shared operations and AI tools after the firms previously ran separately.
