Airbus seeks earlier A320neo production increase to avoid oversold backlog
Airbus has sold out A320neo production through 2032, but says that if it does not raise output by the end of 2027, deliveries could become oversold as early as next year, with commitments exceeding capacity. The collapse of Spirit Airlines provides some breathing room, while JetBlue and Frontier have deferred deliveries. Airbus is pushing to lift the rate to 75 and possibly higher, with 83 under study.
