Air Canada will sell a 25% non-controlling stake in its loyalty program Aeroplan to an investor group led by Blackstone and La Caisse for $1.7 billion (C$2.5 billion), valuing the program at $7.17 billion. The deal is expected to strengthen the balance sheet by reducing gross debt and provide financial flexibility while Air Canada retains 75% and full operational control. Settlement is set for August 17, 2026.
