AEP’s contracted large load pipeline rose to 69 GW from 63 GW, driven by data centers and other major loads across Texas, Ohio, and neighboring states. Its large load tariffs require long-term commitments and are designed to protect project timelines. AEP also bought a permit for a 1.2-GW gas-fired plant in Maidsville, West Virginia, and expects major resource additions by 2035, while reporting a $713 million income decline in the quarter.
