ACWA Power Signs $2.5B Uzbekistan Solar and Storage Contract

ACWA Power has signed three power purchase agreements worth $2.5 billion with Uzbekistan’s National Electric Grid to build solar PV plants in the Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara regions. The 25-year deal includes additional wind capacity and battery energy storage, aiming to offset 1.6 million tons of carbon emissions annually and supply power to about 1.1 million homes, with revenues expected from 2025–2026.
