ABB and Rolls-Royce SMR signed an MoU to explore collaboration on small modular nuclear reactors for low-carbon electricity. ABB will provide automation, electrification, instrumentation and communications for a standardized fleet of 470 MW units intended to power about one million homes in the UK for up to 60 years. Initial work targets three units in North Wales, supporting thousands of jobs and local supply chains.
