The US Department of War awarded 5N Plus Inc $7.3m to establish US production of GaAs components for defence applications. The funding aims to close a domestic supply gap for GaAs electro-optical materials. 5N Plus will expand its Utah operations in St. George with new crystal-growth and GaAs compounding equipment, plus added process controls and inspection capacity.
