Gastonia Police identified a 14-year-old boy as the suspect in a Dollar Tree arson in early July. Surveillance showed him leaving the store at the 2400 block of South York Road before it caught fire on Sunday, July 5. The fire caused an estimated $1 million in damage and destroyed the building, with next steps to be determined by the District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Juvenile Justice.
